Overview
Normies is a collection of 10,000 pixel art faces living entirely on Ethereum. Each was minted as a unique 40x40 monochrome image. The art, the traits and the metadata are all on chain: nothing is hosted elsewhere, nothing can be taken down.
Normies is CC0. The art and the code belong to everyone. Anyone can build on Normies, remix them, or make new things around them.
Types
Every Normie was minted as one of four types: Human, Cat, Alien or Agent. A fifth, Zombie, is reached only by conversion, and there are 21 of them.
Traits
Each Normie has 8 visual trait categories:
- Type: Human, Cat, Alien or Agent (Zombie after conversion)
- Gender: Male, Female or Non-Binary
- Age: Young, Middle-Aged or Old
- Hair Style: 21 styles, including Bald, Mohawk, Ponytail and Afro
- Facial Feature: 17 features, including Full Beard, Mustache, Freckles and Scar
- Eyes: 14 styles, including Shades, Glasses, Eye Patch and Monocle
- Expression and Accessory
Fully on chain
Every Normie’s pixels are stored on Ethereum as raw data. When you view one, a contract reads the pixels and builds an SVG on the fly: no image files, no IPFS, no external hosting.
The palette is off-black (#48494b) pixels on off-white (#e3e5e4). Edits on the Canvas are monochrome too.
Pixel count and level
Pixel Count is the number of filled pixels in a Normie’s original art. It never changes, and it is what rarity reads, so editing a Normie never changes its rank.
Level is pixels on the Normie / 10 + 1, read live. Every Normie starts at level 1. Pixels come from burning Normies or from the Pixel Market; putting them on raises the level and taking them off lowers it. See the Canvas.
